Reverse Brush Strokes Thubmanil

I love using the Brush Tool (b), but hate trying to change the direction of them. Finally I found a quick way to change the direction of a single brush stroke without affecting other strokes associated with the same brush. First, select the path and then click on a endpoint with the Pen Tool (p), creating a new direction toward that point. Sadly, this trick only works on open paths.

Nice tip. Don’t forget that button in the Brush Palette too. It has a few more handy options: http://img.skitch.com/20080513-b3bw9h4y7tkf15gba181pmmhnm.jpg

Love you. I’ve trying to figure that out for years.

I knew Freehand had a pull down to switch direction of stroke, but couldn’t find anything for Illustrator.

I was beginning to despair of ever finding the answer to this conundrum – thanks for the great tip! Used to be a cinch in Freehand; don’t understand why such a basic control isn’t available in Illustrator.

You’re saving people with this tip (seeing the comments it’s still the case for years). Thank you very much.
It’s strange how Adobe didn’t make this more accessible and looks more like a secret..

useful tip, might use it occasionally instead of what i currently do: Brush menu top right, brush options, flip brush (horizontal/vertical).

That does however flip all instances of that brush so either duplicate the brush and apply duplicate to object to be flipped, or flip, extend object, unflip depending on the situation.
