Quickly Locate Objects in Sublayers

Here’s a handy tip if you work with a bunch of Layers. Illustrator can automatically expand and scroll to a sublayer that’s hidden within a collapsed layer. All you have to do is click on the object in your artwork and choose Locate Object from the Layers panel menu. The sample image below is taken from CS6 but should work in older versions of Illustrator.

Fit Text Frame to Content Script

Script: Fit Text Frame to Content

Nathaniel Kelso created a couple of really handy scripts to fit text boxes to their content. This might seem like a really basic problem, but these problems are usually the most annoying. There is a script for a text box’s Depth and a script for the text box’s Width. If you work with a bunch of typography in Illustrator I’m sure they will come in handy. Anchor Points: John Duvengar

You might recognize some of John Duvengar’s work from recent Weekly Inspiration posts. His Bigfoot illustration is one of my favorite illustrations I have come across lately.
