Quick Tip: Quickly Navigate Artboards

I use multiple Artboards on my Illustrator documents consistently and don’t know how I could work without them. I use them for versioning, multiple concepts, logo variations and more. If you’re like me, sometimes navigating multiple Artboards on a document can get cumbersome. Luckily, there is a keyboard shortcut!

Quickly Navigate Artboards

On your keyboard, press Shift-Page Up and Shift-Page Down to navigate from one artboard to the next.

  1. Any way to keep the artboards at 100% when you switch between them? When I do this, it always sets the zoom to “Fit Artboard in Window” โ€” annoying!

  2. to those of you on a mbp or iMac with the tiny keyboard:
    shift+function+up/down arrow ๐Ÿ™‚

it’s the same shortcut as inDesign’s next/prev page which makes it a lot easier to switch between apps

  3. Yay!!!

I have always resorted to using the nav arrows at the bottom of the window or just plain scrolling around. This is a lifesaver!
